I heart Faces-A slice of Life

As my daughter and I drove home from a photo shoot, we saw this gentleman on the frontage road of Interstate 35. We felt compelled to photograph him. I haven't seen him again.  I've asked around but no one knows anything about him.  I think for my daughter and I it was just a reminder.

Texas Bluebonnets

Took my mom and son out to a bluebonnet field near our home.  We went with the intention to take pictures of Lucas in the bluebonnets, but he just sat and played with his trains quietly.  My mom on the other hand ran around all over the field and totally enjoyed her time with the flowers.  She picked up a bunch of picked flowers and held them up to pray and I just had to snap the picture.

This lovely frame is from The Organic Bloom .  I love their frames!

Here are a few of the pictures of Lucas.

I Heart Faces-Sun Flare

This picture doesn't show the most amazing sun flare, but when I look at it, it brightens my heart!

In this picture are my two boys! My older son had just come back home, after finishing his job training in the Army. He had a few days at home before he went to his new duty station in Korea. It has been so hard for him to leave his little brother as they are very close and they spent everyday together for Lucas' first two years.

We are all looking forward to seeing him again in 253 days!

I Heart Faces-People’s Choice Photo Challenge | Best Face in February

This is one of my favorite pictures I took, In February, of my little boy Lucas. This is his ouch face. He had bumped his head and was letting me know his head still hurt.

Lucas is usually a very tough little boy...he will trip and fall and get right up and keep going. However, he had just started feeling well after being sick for many weeks, so he was still a little sensitive. That didn't stop him from enjoying his day outside though!

I love watching Lucas play and enjoy life.

Untangling the chains

When my mother came to visit us in October, she began working on trying to untangle her necklaces.  She had them for months in her purse and somehow they ended up all tangled up.  I keep telling her that she is not  allowed to go back home until she untangles them.

Well it's March 1st and although she has made some progress, they are still a tangled mess.  Even though some nights she spent hours trying to get them untangled.  However, she found a new addiction, she loves play solitaire on the iPad so she hasn't devoted as much time to the necklace project in quite a while.

I am happy that she is still here with us, though I know she will have to eventually go back home.

These beautiful hands belong to my 72 year old mom.  I love you mom!

This week's theme at iheartfaces is anything but a face.
